Prior to founding Shaddock Caldwell, a Custom Home Builder in the DFW metroplex, Todd and Ben had known each other for a long time. In 2010, their complementary skillsets – Todd being a builder, and Ben a developer – came together as they formed their partnership in the front room of Todd’s 1,700 square foot house.

They have always worked well together. One of their favorite memories is when Todd asked Ben to come help him change the water pump on his ’77 Chevy pickup. Not only did Ben jump right in, but he knew what he was doing and they completed the job without any frustration.

To this day, the ’77 Chevy is still going strong. It’s often used to run work errands around town, and can frequently be seen parked outside their office in Richardson. It serves as a reminder that they aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty, and shows their commitment to doing the job right.

TODD SHADDOCK
Prior to co-founding Shaddock Caldwell, Todd Shaddock spent over 10 years building homes as part of the Shaddock companies in Dallas, TX.  Beginning in the field as a builder, he would eventually serve as Vice President of Operations where he played a crucial role in the construction of several hundred homes per year.  Son of Peter Shaddock, Sr., a Dallas homebuilding icon, he has continued the family homebuilding legacy by serving on the board of the North Dallas/ Collin County division of the Home Builders Association including a year as its President.

Todd graduated from TCU with a degree in finance with a real estate emphasis and he is one of the founding board members of Green Built Texas. Todd is also a member of Watermark Community Church where he has served in multiple leadership capacities including Captain at the welcome desk, launching small groups, facilitating intro to Watermark classes, and leadership in their twelve-step recovery ministry Regeneration.

BEN CALDWELL
Ben Caldwell began his real estate career with LandPlan Development Corp. in Frisco, TX. As an associate, he directly participated in the acquisition, development and disposition of over $85 million of real property. With a focus on land development and affluent single-family lot development, he worked with debt and equity sources under principal’s direction to secure over $27 million in debt and over $10 million in equity. During his time at LandPlan, he worked on several notable communities including Stonebriar Park, Chapel Creek, Tranquility Farms and Shenandoah.

Ben obtained his MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University on a full academic scholarship as a Cox Distinguished MBA Scholar.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. He’s also a member of Watermark Community Church and serves as a leader in their community ministry.
